Anyone use Fraps on an External HDD?
I've had 4 External HDD's and all of them died to Fraps, although I made the Fraps settings very demanding...
If anybody uses an External HDD, what brand is yours? and how does it fair when recording WoW?
Another question - If you use Fraps on the same Hard Drive that WoW runs from, how does your performance hold up? I've tried this but met poor results.

I've got only one HDD currently, works quite fine, but then I'm frapsing at 1024x768.

Heard good things about those drives, well Western Digital in general.

I'm guessing you render in 1280 x 720?

Nope, in render in 1024x as well. All my movies are in this resolution :) I'm going to make an upgrade soon, but I will probably stick to 1024x768 resolution cause, seeing how The Ultimate is almost 1GB in size, it might get too heavy for most uploads.

You would cry if you had to render with the resolution I'm using. 1680x1050 is really heavy ;___;

Thats what I play in but upscaled to 1920x1080 lol... I think I see why my Hard drives died now.

I hate for having that resolution as the native. 16:10 won't fit with anything, the codecs bug out (I think so) and it only looks good on 16:10 screens. I really want to buy a screen that has a better resolution (16:9) but it would be a pretty stupid idea to buy a new one just for the sake of buying it.

You could play in windowed mode while you play and set the resolution to what you want it to be. Would it work?

I've been trying it out but it only made things blurry depending on how you resized the window lol.
