Advanced Masking Effects/Transitions

Hi there everyone

Im very new to this website and video editing in general but im currently working on a project in which i want to add alot of masking effects and cool mask transitions. I have got the basics of the subject down and I've already experimented with some really cool masking techniques.

I havent researched masking in depth (besides watching Mintii's video) so what i am asking for is either help with the question stated below OR a link to a guide that may cover the information i seek regarding the question below.

How can someone make a masked shape move with smooth or lucid movements?
(Ex: Masking a flickering flame)

Masking and motion tracking in After Effects. Google it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but there arent really tutorials or topics among the forums i have perused.

I have after effects and ive seen a few basic youtube videos but nothing seems to be covering the effect that i want.
